Real Estate Elko - NV
Elko Real Estate Information

Elko Nevada, itself is just a small community of about 17,000 people, but the greater area for which Elko draws its business and development is much closer to 50,000. This has made the city a vibrant place and few people know this but Elko has the highest per capita income in all of Nevada. Not bad eh?

Elko County is located in northeastern Nevada and at 17,135 square miles is the second largest county in the Silver State. It is bordered on the north by Idaho and on the east by Utah. Elko, the county seat, is 295 miles east of Reno, 237 miles west of Salt Lake City and 246 miles south of Boise.

The origin of the name Elko has been lost in the mists of time, but several stories have been handed down to us. The most probable story is that Charles Crocker of the Central Pacific Railroad liked to name railhead towns after animals. He added an "o" to "Elk" to ease the pronunciation and thus named this new town Elko.

So if you are looking to buy or sell a home in Nevada, you can do no wrong with Elko. With its high standard of living, and dearth of outdoor activities you be able to live your life to the fullest and enjoy frontier living with all the comforts of home.
