Usually the "Silver State" of Nevada conjours images of bright flashing lights along the casino- and cabaret-lined streets of Las Vegas and Reno. That for the most part has allowed Nevada to flourish as one of the most visited states in the country. Although the cities of Las Vegas and Reno may get the most attention, there is another that offer the same type of fun and amusement, albeit to a much lesser, more comfortable atmosphere. That place is the City of Laughlin.

Set upon the western banks of the Colorado River in the most southern tip of the state near the California and Arizona stateline, the City of Laughlin rises like a phoenix in all its fiery glory. After Las Vegas and Reno, Laughlin draws the most amount of tourists who are drawn to the city's equally impressive casinos and resorts.

This is an impressive feat for this small community of approximately 8,500 people who have incredibly maintained a strong semblance of a tight-knit small-town community amidst the chaos and bizarreness that usually characterizes a high concentration of casinos. For that, Laughlin is often lauded for its family-friendliness. It is also a big reason why the residents of Laughlin are some of the most grounded people in the state.
