Situated in northeastern New Jersey in Essex County, is the lovely community of Cedar Grove. The Township of Cedar Grove is a suburban municipality located approximately 15 miles from New York City and 10 miles northwest of the City of Newark. Cedar Grove is contained within 4.5 square miles and has an estimated population of approximately 13,000 people.

Cedar Grove has a rich heritage dating back to the 1600's when the area was settled predominately by English and Dutch colonists. Throughout the 19th and early part of the 20th century, Cedar Grove was devoted to farming and dairy production. After WWII, the community developed into primarily a residential area, although there are areas for industrial and commercial businesses.

Cedar Grove is well known in the state for its high education standards. Cedar Grove houses two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Cedar Grove High School was selected as one of New Jersey Monthly's Top High Schools. For higher education, there are 7 colleges and universities within a 10 mile radius including reputable Rutgers University, Seton Hall University, and New Jersey Institute of Technology.
