Wallington Real Estate Information Wallington is a place of progress and diversity – a truly unique community that welcomes you in all your future plans.
Wallington sits in the southern corner of Bergen County, New Jersey. The Passaic and Saddle Rivers run along its northwestern boundaries, giving the unique town a lovely heart-shape. Although only one-square mile, Wallington's size belies its unique and rich, century old history. December 31, 1894, officially marks the beginning of Wallington where all the sights and sounds we experience here today were born.
The growth of the Wallington area really blossomed around 1890, with most of the early settlers here being Dutch and Irish. By April of 1890 there were a dozen one-family houses and a private school between the Passaic River and Locust Lane. The school, which is still standing, was at the northeast corner of Maple Street and Union Place.
Wallington is an enterprising city with a hometown touch. That sums up the unique quality of life enjoyed in Wallington. After a century, this tiny, heart-shaped borough still prides itself on its communal spirit. Its fine schools and businesses are both well-know beyond Wallington's borders. And finally, its residents have truly made the town what it is, whose backgrounds blend to form a community that prides itself on both the traditions it has kept and on the progress it has made throughout the past one-hundred years.
