West New York is a Walsh Act town located in Hudson County, New Jersey. It is situated across the Hudson River from Manhattan, near Union City, New Jersey. Access to New York City can be acheived via the Lincoln Tunnel or Cross Bronx Expressway. The town has an estimated population of 46,000 people.

Many of West New York's residents do not work within the town, but rather commute to the larger job markets in New York City, Union City, and Jersey City. Although the town does have an active textile manufacturing and retail service industries that employ thousands of people inhabiting the town.

The town has an excellent school system consisting of 6 elementary schools and 2 high schools. There is New Horizon Institute of Cosmetology, a noted beauty school. Seven other post-secondary schools are within 5 miles away from West New York, including New School University and City University of New York.

West New York is a densly populated, vibrant community with a huge Hispanic demographic. The city has six public parks, and the main street, Bergenline, has many charming specialty shops and resteraunts. The neighborhoods are clean attractive, as the real estate is an affordable alternative to that in New York City.
