In the midst of the spectacular wilderness of the 6 million-acres Adirondacks Forest Preserve lies a place where serenity washes over your very being, where you can forget all your worries, where you truly get in touch with nature. That place is a called Chestertown.

Like most places within the Adirondacks Forest Preserve, you'll instantly fall in love with this fair community. Located in Warren County, Chestertown is a rustic paradise that is surrounded by major lakes on all sides - Friends Lake to the southwest, Loon Lake to the northwest, Brant Lake to the northeast, and Sherman Lake to the southeast.

Originally established by settlers from New England, Chestertown once had heavy mill activities, although today those activities have subsided. Today, Chestertown has a few businesses that cater to the tourism industry.

Chestertown is conveniently located near some of the great Adirondack destinations including being only 30 minutes from Lake George, and one hour from Lake Placid. Many New Yorkers make Chestertown a top destination, as it's only an hour-and-a-half drive from the state capitol of Albany, and three-and-a-half hours from New York City.
