Situated in northeastern upstate New York amidst the stunning mountains and woodlands landscape of the Adirondack Forest Preserve lies one of the most breathtaking areas in the world - Essex County. Essex County encompasses eighteen towns and four villages, with the largest communities being Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Shroon Lake, and Elizabethtown (the county seat). The county population is approximately 50,000 people.
