Situated in the southern end of beautiful New York State in Westchester County is the Hamlet of Jefferson Valley. The hamlet is part of the Town of Yorktown. The other hamlets of this distinguished historic town are Crompond, Mohegan Lake, Shrub Oak and Yorktown Heights. Jefferson Valley is 43 miles north of New York City, and has a current population of approximately 15,000 people.

Yorktown's chamber of commerce reports a membership that includes more than 350 small and mid-sized businesses, professional firms and individuals. Business is good for independent owners as the close-knit town support their own.

Four highly rated school districts serve the Yorktown, which includes Jefferson Valley. The town also has a cultural and community center that offers a 600-seat theatre, senior citizen gathering places, a gymnasium and a historical museum. The J.C. Hart Library in Shrub Oak is one of the Town's special treasures.

Jeffeson Valley, along with Yorktown includes extensive recreational facilities with over 1400 acres of town and state parks. This location is an absolute treasure, being in close proximity of Teatown Lake Reservation, one of the county's largest nature. Also, there are five miles of the 22-mile North County Trailway bike here, and two 18-hole public golf courses.
