Rochester, New York is located on the Genesee River just north of High Falls, near Lake Ontario. In its early days, the city was informally known as the Flour City, due to its flour mills which was the livelihood of many of its residents. Today, Rochester is a leading center in the production of photographic, photocopying, optical, and dental equipment, process control and recording instruments, and thermometers, earning the City the title of The World's Image Centre

The city provides numerous recreational opportunities being in such close proximity of scenic Letchworth State Park, with its spectacular canyon and waterfalls, and the glacially-formed Finger Lakes Region, with its numerous lakes and summer cottages.
