The Gateway to the spectacular Finger Lakes Region, Schuyler (pronounced sky-ler) County is immersed in the often natural splendor of upstate New York. It is also home to the New York's wine country, which is the third largest in the nation after the wine countries of California and Washington state. The county was name is in honor of General Philip Schuyler, a famous general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

Home to over 22,000 people, Schuyler County is a largely rural area where agriculture has traditionally been the way of life, although the burgeoning tourism industry is becoming increasingly saturated with business as more people discover the beauty of Schuyler County.
