Sound Beach is 3 miles east from the community of Rocky Point, the location where one can catch a short ferry ride over to Bridgeport, Connecticut. New York City is about 65 miles west of Sound Beach. The estimated population of this community is 9,800 people.
The residents of Sound Beach are treated to some of the most stunning scenery that Long Island has to offer. Gentle hills covered with an old growth forest and the rugged shoreline of Long Island Sound set a sparkling landscape that is ripe with recreational opportunities. Long a haven for yachting and sailing activities, Sound Beach provides ample access to these amazing activities just of the Woodhole Landing, Rocky Point Landing, or Mount Sinai Harbor. The quality of the environment here has long been one of the strongest factors why Sound Beach is a great place.
