Conveniently located east of center in the “Tar Heel State” of North Carolina, the community of Clinton is a planned community that has a history dating back to the 18th century when Scotsman and Englishmen settled the area. Major industrial employers found in Clinton include Sanmini, Thermapane Glass Products, Kivett's Church Furniture, Lundy Packing Company, and Schindler Escalators. Farm production includes a variety of crops and livestock, and total production exceeds over $200 million.

Clinton serves as the county seat of Sampson County, and is close to major urban centers. Fayetteville is 20 miles to the west, Wilmington is 60 miles south, and the state capitol of Raleigh is 60 miles to the north.

Clinton’s government is widely respected for their continual commitment to improve the quality of life for its residents. The area has preserved its history with two designated historic districts from the National Register of Historic Places.
