Situated on the Lumber River about 100 miles from the major Carolinean cities of Raleigh, Charlotte, and Colombia, is the City of Lumberton. Lumberton is the county seat for Robeson County, North Carolina. The city was created from Bladen County in 1786 by two Revolutionary War heroes and residents of the area, General John Willis and Colonel Thomas Robeson. The city has a population of approximately 22,000 people.

The City of Lumberton welcomes industries and businesses as designated North Carolina Development Zone. The city makes every effort to attract new companies while supporting the existing businesses. With its strategic location close to three major cities and the attractive incentives offered by the city, Lumberton is poised for great economic growth in the future.
