Established after the first World War, Spring Lake is named after the lake that was created during construction of a passing railroad route. Spring Lake Pond, which now acts as a reservoir, provides plenty of recreation for the residents of Spring Lake and surrounding areas. Following the World War II, the town of Spring Lake blossomed with a rapidly increasing population thanks to the establishment of Fort Bragg, which contributes greatly to the local economy.
