Situated about 5 miles from Lexington and 20 miles southeast of Winston-Salem in Davidson County, North Carolina, is the City of Thomasville. The city was named after John W. Thomas, who represented the county in the North Carolina General Assembly in 1831 and was a member of the State Senate in 1842. The population of Thomasville is estimated to be approximately 21,000 people.
