Located in the state of North Carolina, the city of Wilson is the county chair for Wilson County. Wilson is a growing community of nearly 50,000 people at the crossroads of major highways I-95 and US 264. The city is located halfway between New York and Miami, and between Raleigh and Greenville.

Following the Civil War, settlers began farming tobacco, a crop perfectly adapted to the region's sandy soil. By the early 20th century, Wilson had become the world's largest bright leaf tobacco market. Today, the county's farmland produces crops worth $100 million annually, while the city boasts twenty-two industries that employ over one hundred individuals. More than 8,500 jobs are held in manufacturing facilities in Wilson County.

Cultural and recreational opportunities are plentiful for the citizens of this region. The Edna Boykin Cultural Center, a newly renovated 650 seat facility, offers a well equipped auditorium and multiurpose home for the performing arts. The city also houses an extensive park system for invigorating recreational activities. Wilson is the Mid-Atlantic king of antiques and antique reproductions. More than 20 shops call Wilson home.
