Englewood was named best overall community in the Dayton-Springfield metro area according to Smart Moves, a computer software product that ranks over 10,000 communities nationwide.The citzens of this city are of course its greatest assets and they take pride in the outstanding municipal services that are provided to them.

There's plenty to do here - from our seven parks to the Earl Heck Community Center to the 2,000-acre Englewood MetroPark. The recent additions have been the opening of the spacious YMCA and a three mile biking/hiking pathway that courses along the scenic Stillwater river to join the Englewood Reserve Metro Park.

The village of Englewood was incorporated in 1914, and Jacob Hoover became its first mayor. With an initial population of a little over 400, the city has grown to over 12,000 residents. The city's charming downtown, cozy neighborhoods and booming commerce parks and easy access to the Dayton International Airport makes Englewood a popular choice for families and businesses looking for place to call home.
