That's because the city of Fairborn is actually a union of the two villages of Fairfield and Osborn. The village of Fairfield can trace its roots back to 1816 while the village of Osborn was created in 1851. For numerous reasons, these two villages merged in 1950 and led to the creation of Fairborn.
