Medina, Ohio is the perfect little city deep in the heart of northern Ohio! Medina was laid out as a village in 1818 and incorporated as the Medina County seat in 1835.

Medina is a beautiful, historic and vital community in one of the most rapidly growing counties in the state of Ohio; Medina is an active city with a population just over 25,000.

In the spring of 2002, the United States Department of the Interior National Park Service and Ohio Historic Preservation Office certified the City of Medina as the state’s 36th Certified Local Government (CLG). In March 2003, the city was awarded a CLG grant to complete an intensive survey of historic property in a targeted area. The purpose of the survey is to identify and research the history of properties, document this research on the Ohio Historic Inventory (OHI) form and single out prospective properties for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places maintained by the National P CLG program that integrates local government and historic preservation.
