Sitauted on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie is Mentor, a small town of 50,000 on the outskirts of Cleaveland. Among Mentor's claims to fame is a renowned 930-acre park system. Within the system are 11 community parks, 3 swmiming pools, three ice rinks, inline skate parks, and miles of trails to exploer. That's a lot for a quiet little town by the shore!

Of course, watersports play a big part in daily life here. The Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve & Marina is a hub for boaters and fishers alike. In addition, the Headlands State Park on Lake Erie and three lakefront nature preserves mean that the water is a huge source of recreation and enjoyment.

Originally, Mentor was part of a large tract of wilderness advertised as a new 'Eden'. The ground was fertile and the climate was mild, drawing thousands of pioneers into the area on horseback and wagons.

Each year, Mentor hosts a number of summer festivals that provide great free outdoor entertainment. From the Arts and Craft show, fireworks, to the Ships Festival on the Lagoons, there's no shortage of fun for the whole family.

Want to shop? That's not a problem either. Mentor is now 6th in the State in retail sales volume. The Great Lakes Mall is one of the bigger malls in the region, with 1.5 million square feet of retail space on 125 acres of land.
