Anybody on the south knows that Austin Texas is a wealthy enclave of progressives that don’t take life too seriously and in many ways are more cosmopolitan than the rest of the state. This has attracted many people who do not feel in sync with the mainstream Texas culture. Ardmore Okalahoma is considered by most people to be the Austin of the state. It’s just a little different than mainstream Oklahoma.

Of course this doesn’t mean that Ardmore is out of touch with the rest of the state. Ardmore is still Oklahoma through and through. You still spend your weekends on the lake or at the river tubing with your friends and a cooler of beer, and you still love the great food that the state is famous for.

It’s just that Ardmore is a little more progressive. It has embraced the FIRE industry more than most places in the state and this forward thinking has made the community (as small as it is) quite wealthy. And, in turn, this wealth has blessed the state with some fine real estate opportunities. You can go just about anywhere in Ardmore and find old and new properties, in great condition, for sale at great prices.
