Newport Oregon Company: A1 Buyer Broker
Lincoln City is a wonderful place just to relax, or to actively participate in all your favorite coastal recreation activities. It is bordered on the north by the Salmon River estuary that together with the magnificent Cascade Head promontory has been designated an International Biosphere Reserve. Herds of elk and bald eagles are often seen as you hike through majestic Sitka spruce and out onto the headland or paddle the estuary.
To the east of Lincoln City is Devils Lake, a 680-acre freshwater lake that rests at the base of the Coast Range foothills. Devils Lake is a great place for the whole family to enjoy boating, windsurfing and fishing for bass, trout and coho salmon. The southern boundary of the city is marked by Siletz Bay, where you can watch (and be watched by) the resident pod of harbor seals basking on the end of Salishan spit just across the mouth of the bay. Don't forget to bring your crab pot!
And to the west, Lincoln City is bordered by the mighty Pacific Ocean and 7 1/2 miles of beautiful, sandy beaches. The breezes are often perfect for kite flying, earning Lincoln City the title "Kite Capital of the World" in 1990. Don't miss the summer display of huge, revolving spin socks at D River Wayside, or the wide variety of colorful, acrobatic kites being flown by global enthusiasts year-round. Feeling lucky? From October through May the Lincoln City Visitors and Convention Bureau hides over 2000 handblown glass floats on the beach for its popular "Glass Float Odyssey". Finders keepers!
