Rockcreek Real Estate Information The community of Rockcreek is a newly developed area in northwest Oregon laying on the northwestern outskirts of the Greater Portland Metropolitan Area. Part of Washington County, the census-designated community of Rockcreek is home to a rapidly growing population that currently numbers approximately 10,000 people.
Although there will be plans to develop in this fertile area, Rockcreek residents can at least enjoy for now being situated in a fairly rural area just minutes from the heart of Portland. Rockcreek is about 10 miles northwest from the downtown core of Portland. The drive there can be quite magnificent if you take the route through the impressive 5,000-plus acre Forest Park and then onto State Highway 30 as you drive alongside the western banks of the Willamette River.
Located adjacent to Forest Park, Rockcreek is like a little wilderness refuge community in the Portland metro area. Forest Park is a popular destination for many people to escape the rigors of city living. This park features 74 miles of hiking and bicycling trails, and is home to an abundance of wildlife. For something a little more impressive, the residents of Rockcreek are close to many breathtaking natural attractions such as Tillamook, Gifford-Pinchot, and Mount Hood National Forests, Malarkey and Sturgeon Lakes, and of course, the wonderfully pristine Pacific coastline.
