The City of Sweet Home is located at the East-end of Linn County. Called the “Gateway to the Santiam Playground”, the City of Sweet Home lies at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, next to the pristine Santiam River and close to Foster and Green Peter Reservoirs. Located in the Mid-Willamette Valley, Sweet Home offers close proximity to to major urban areas for commuters and shoppers: Portland is 100 miles, Salem is 50 miles, Eugene 50 miles and Albany 25 miles. Sweet Home is the third largest city in Linn County. It encompasses approximately 6.5 square miles.

Located on the southeastern edge of the beautiful Willamette Valley, the City of Sweet Home - home of the Oregon Jamboree country music festival, lies nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range not far from the scenic Oregon Coast. It is recognized as the "Gateway to the Santiam Playground" recreational area. Foster and Green Peter Lakes offer boating, fishing and camping for the whole family. The Sweet Home Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest beckons hikers, hunters and campers. The City boasts a steady population of over 8,300. Local industry includes timber and forest products, White's Electronics metal detectors home plant, and small manufacturing companies. The City has a City Manager/Council form of government.
