The city of Tigard is located in Washington County, Oregon. It is part of the Portland Metropolitan area and is just south from the city of Beaverton, and a few minutes southwest of downton Portland. The city has an estimated population of 47,000 people.

Since incorporating in 1961, Tigard developed a strong tax base and a diversity of businesses. Businesses are attracted to the city's tax rate, among the lowest in area, and industrial and commercial properties represent a large portion of the Tigard tax base. Today, there is over 4.5 million square feet of commercial and industrial space in Tigard at business parks such as Lincoln Center, Oregon Business Park, Forum Properties Business Centers, Tigard Industrial Center, Commerce Plaza, Sequoia Parkway and Plaza West - all of which contribute to Tigard's strong economy.

There are plenty of recreational and cultural opportunities in Tigard. There are 12 public parks on over 300 acres around the city, including 80-acre Cook Park. Tigard is home to the Deb Fennel Auditorium, a state-of-the-art facility, which hosts the professional Broadway Rose Theatre.
