Known as Christmas City USA, Bethlehem was founded in 1741 by Moravians from Central Europe. The city located in eastern Pennsylvania along the banks of the Monocacy Creek by the Lehigh River. It lies in the center of the Lehigh Valley region, which also includes the cities of Allentown and Easton.

Always a progressive city, Bethlehem became home to the first water works in America to pump water for public usage in 1762. Bethlehem became a center of heavy industry and trade during the industrial revolution. The Bethlehem Steel Corporation was founded in 1904, and has bee a major manufacturer for the country's war efforts. Since the company closed operations in the mid-90s, the city has been successful in promoting its tourism industry. Many tourists now come to Bethlehem each year at Christmas to see the historic downtown and the 81 foot high electric Star of Bethlehem on South Mountain.

Bethlehem is home to Lehigh University and Moravian College, both leading liberal arts colleges. Attractions in the city include Moravian Museum, the Colonial Industrial Quarter, and Christkindlmarkt.

The charming atmosphere and the close-knit enviroment of the community are attractive features for many people looking to relocate to Pennsylvania.
