Folsom operates under a Mayor / Council form of Government. The City has a full range of services including Public Safety, Health, Housing, Parks, Streets & Highways, Water operations and Sewer operations.

As part of our continued commitment to improving Downtown, the City retained a lot of companies to develop a plan for the revitalization of the second block of Main Street. The result of this work is the Folsom Square Master Plan.
