Nestled between the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and the base of Bald Eagle Mountain, Williamsport offers enchanting scenery and breathtaking views. The city is known for it’s lumber…in two senses of the word.

Firstly, the city was founded by a community of lumber barons who turned this little junction into one of the largest lumber producing regions in the entire east. They built much of what are still the cities downtown and they even established the cities charter in the 19th century.

The other kind of lumber that Williamsport is famous for are baseball bat…little baseball bats to be precise. Williamsport is home to the little league baseball world series and it is also thought of as the birthplace of little league baseball.

Every year young tykes and their expectation laden parents travel to this small city to watch kids from around the world compete with each other to see who is good at baseball. And unlike most amateur sports, there are certainly winners and losers. The winners are usually Cuba, the USA and Taiwan, while the losers are everybody else who shows up.
