Situated about 5 miles north of South Carolina's capital city, Columbia, near Lake Murray, is the quaint South Carolinian town of St. Andrews. The town is located in Richland County and has a total population of approximately 25,000 people. North Carolina's major city of Charlotte is located about 80 miles away.

Known as a progressive town, St. Andrew's supports a wide array of commercial and industrial enterprises. The major employers in the town are in the educational, health, and social services sector; and retail trade. Most of the town's residents work abroad in the larger economic market of Columbia.

Education is a source of pride for St. Andrew's residents. About 90% of St. Andrew's residents have completed high school, and 33% of them have attained their bachelors degree. Higher institutions of learning can be found in Columbia - South Carolina State University, Benedict College, and Midlands Technical College. St. Andrew's fine public school system is credited for laying the seeds of curiosity in its most precious resource, its children.

St. Andrew has become the preferred place to live in and around Columbia. Seemingly more and more young professionals are setting up their base here as the town's average age is 30 years of age.
