Bloomingdale Real Estate Information Bloomingdale is a community located in the northeastern corner of the “Volunteer State” of Tennessee. It is part of Sullivan County and lies between the county’s two major cities of Kingsport and Bristol. Bloomingdale is about 4 miles northeast from Kingsport and 15 miles west of Bristol. Bloomingdale sits about a mile south from the southern state line of Virginia and Virginia’s Scott County. The estimated population of this sleepy little community is 10,500 people.
Bloomingdale is a particularly scenic community thanks to its positioning in the foothills of the majestic Appalachian Mountains. Not surprisingly, there is a wealth of recreational opportunities available to residents and visitors alike in and around the area. Less than a 10-mile drive south will find you at Patrick Henry Lake, which deceptively looks like a river with its serpentine geography. With its long shoreline, the lake lends itself to viewing some important wetlands in area’s vast network of trails. It is also here where you’ll find the 950-acre Warrior Path State Park, a site of a very old war involving the fierce Cherokee Indian Nation. Within the City of Kingsport, one can enjoy the beauty of the massive Bay Mountain Park and Boat Yard Park.
A great place to live, there is many housing opportunities of great value found in Bloomingdale, which was named after a steel product known as ‘blooms’ manufactured by an area foundry.
