The Town of Smyrna finds its roots in the mid 1800's as an agrarian community with many large farms and plantations flourishing in the area. One of the more significant plantations, the Sam Davis Home, is Smyrna's most historic landmark and is designated as a state historical site.

Today Smyrna has a thriving business community that is perfectly placed to have access to all points of the state. This has led to remarkable growth over the last twenty years and has positioned Smyrna as one of the many cities in the region that offre a gateway to what is being called, the new south. Well, I don't know how new it is, but it still great.
