When a town is founded for the sole reason of connecting a railway with nearby farms, you sometimes have to question the long term future of that town. However, the Texas city of Allen has grown from its relatively modest roots to become one of the most affluent cities in the Lone Star State.

Allen was founded around 1870 as a railway stop for the Houston and Texas Railway. The city still pays tribute to its past, as the first railway dam used to facilitate the railway still stands at Exchange Park. Considering its early roots, it isn't shocking to learn that Allen was the sight of what many believe is the first train robbery in Texan history. Although proud of this colorful history, the city of Allen has trasformed in a major way since this time.

Home to Daisytek amd a campus of the Collin County Community College District, this Texan city is known for its wealth. Located in Collin County, Allen is home to 43,554 residents. With beautiful homes, excellent neighbourhoods, and a relaxed atmosphere, Allen has been attracting new residents at a rapid rate.
