Some people accuse McAllen TX. Of just being another Texas boarder own. Well, they’re right, and those living there are damned proud of it! US boarder towns have a mystic about them that few places in the world have. In many parts of the world, boarder town are lawless regions that are often fought over with killing and stuff.

Other boarder towns are of the kind that both nations are so similar there is really no diversity or cultural differences to make them exciting, just look at the Canada /US boarder. But McAllen is different. Because Texas and Mexico are so different you really gat a blending and contrast of cultures there.

Just think of Tex-Mex food. This chow is known throughout the world as some of the most delicious on earth, and you can find it in McAllen in its natural state. Also the mix of people here is quite extraordinary. There are many Mexican day laborers that arrive each day and allow the population to swell enormously. There are also the tourists who flock there every day on their way to Mexico, or just to enjoy the beauty of McAllen on its own.

Of course there are also the native McAllenites. These are simple folks who know the meaning of freedom and they love their Texan heritage. They are friendly and they’ll be sure to show you a good time when you arrive there.
