Home to just over 6,500 residents the town of Navasota, Texas lies ‘slap, bang’ in the middle of just about everything. Surrounded in all directions by the various major cities in the state, Navasota, Texas is close to Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin. Houston is the closest ‘big city’ and is only an hour drive away, although College Station is the nearest city to the town.

Settled in the early 1800’s as the railways made their journey across the country, Navasota, Texas grew as a cotton and manufacturing centre; a heritage it still preserves today in its strong manufacturing presence. Whilst most people commute to the nearby urban centres for employment, Navasota does have a bustling business centre of its own, offering varied jobs for residents and helping to generate a community spirit, whilst attracting more residents.

Recreation is limited in Navasota, Texas, with parks providing much of the bases for fun and adventure. Home to La Salle House, Navasota does offer a taste of ‘bygone’ living in the Queen Anne Victorian Building that acts as a mini museum. For more contemporary entertainment residents are within easy reach of other towns and cities, such as College Station, home to the George Bush Presidential library amongst other attractions.
