Pecan Grove is a small, isolated community of 14,000 people located 30 miles outside of Houston, Texas. Life in Pecan Grove is decidedly rural, with many affluent residential homes for professional commuters. The development of Pecan Grove can be alrgely attributed to Bruce Belin and Associates who purchased the 1,500 acre lot and built a community between 1973 and 1978. The name 'Pecan Grove' is directly related to the numerous Pecan trees that grow in the area.

It is a ritzy suburb with its own golf course, country club, tennis courts, and many other parks and recreation activities. As a master-planned community with a large buffer of wilderness between itself and Houston, most residents pride themselves with finely landscaped neighborhoods and houses.

Most essential services like hospitals and schools are found in nearby towns within a 10 mile radius. A majority of the best services are located in Houston proper, which is a good 25 miles along the highway. There you can find a number of great arts and culture venues, along with several key Universities like Rice, Houston Community College, University of Houston, and Texas Southern.
