The cute, little city of Richardson, Texas is actually a suburb of 100,000 residents located in Dallas County on the northern edge of the Dallas, Texas metro area. It can be reached via the Central expressway. Did you know that Richardson is home to Richardson Historical Park? 1 mile south off US 281, built in 1867 Richardson Historical Park area was was the northernmost in a chain of U.S. Cavalry posts used to halt American Indian raids and to guard the Butterfield Overland mail route. The actual fort was abandoned in 1878. Currently the park stretches over 396 acres and it contains seven original and two replica buildings as well as picnic and camping facilities for your family to enjoy.

Other recreational facilities include free downtown museum of modern art that features 60 works from the collection of the late Texas oil man, Sid Richardson as well as the famous Miss Belle’s two-story farmhouse.
