Sugar Land is a city located in Fort Bend County, Texas. It is suburb of Houston. The city has a population of 65,000. Amazingly, population has increased 158 percent since 1990 when the population was 25,000. It is the fastest growing city in Texas.

Sugar Land is home to the headquarters for the Imperial Sugar company. The company's main refinery was once located in this city, but it has been shut down although their business offices remain. Many other companies make their headquarters here, making this city an economic force in the Houston Metropolitan Area.

The area, like much of Texas, is known to be a Republican stronghold, as much of its citizens are college-educated, white-collar, and mostly employed in Houston's renowned energy industry. The city also boasts an extensive parks and recreation system, and many cultural attractions.

Sugar Land is an economically strong and culturally diverse city. Many celebrities live in and around Man celebrities make their home in the upscale, but quaintly suburban Commonwealth subdivision, such as Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and Tara Lipinski.

Sugar Land continues to expand and grow at a rapid rate. Many people are drawn to the city's vast economic opportunies, as well as the fine municipal services that are afforded here.
