Webster was considered a village until it was incorporated in 1958. According to the United States 1990 census, the population is now 4,641. Today Webster’s industry is comprised mostly of banks, hospitals, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, and aerospace firms. Webster is recognized as the gateway to the Johnson Space Center and its motto is “Linked to the Future.”
