Danville, Virginia

Danville is an independent city of more than 50,000 residents. The city is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Piedmont region of Virginia. The city's central location is within a days drive to more than two thirds of the United States population. At approximately 500 feet above sea level and protected from harsh weather extremes by the nearby mountains, Danville enjoys four distinct seasons.

The City of Danville and Pittsylvania County have school systems that provide the facilities and environment to prepare its children for the 21st century.

In addition to the modern facilities of Danville Community College, the area is also home of Averett University; a four year , private, fully accredited, independent liberal arts college chartered in 1859. Averett offers bachelor's degrees in 35 majors and has recently opened a 75 acre convocation and athletic center. Danville also has an independent junior college of business in the National Business College.
