Fredericksburg Real Estate Information It is very hard to go anywhere in Virginia and not find a city that played a prominent role in the United States Civil War. Of course Fredericksburg is no exception. In fact, Fredericksburg played more than just a prominent role. It was one of the decisive battles that led to the eventual Union victory and brought an end to the bloody and divisive conflict.
You can still see some of the remnants of the conflict in Fredericksburg today. The city has a strong sense of its history, which is reinforced each year as thousands of civil war enthusiasts flock to the city each year to see where it all went down.
At the time of the battle America was a much different place. It was largely an agrarian society where people farmed the land and lived happily day-to-day. In those days, Fredericksburg was a large city and a hub for many of the farmers who tilled the nearby soil. Today, the cities population has not grown very much, and at around 20,000 it doesn’t even crack the top twenty of cities in terms of size in Virginia.
That suits the people here just fine and they are more than happy to continue living a modest life just like their forefathers did so many years ago.
