Pulaski is county seat to Pulaski County. Both city and county were named after Count Casimir Pulaski, a Polish immigrant who rose through the ranks of General George Washington’s army and became a national hero for his role in the American Revolution. Pulaski is home to an estimated population of 9,500 people, and is located about 100 miles southeast from the West Virginian capitol of Charleston, and 70 miles north of Winston-Salem in North Carolina.
