Reston is an unincorporated planned city located in western Fairfax County, Virginia, in the Washington, District of Columbia metropolitan area. It is situated 10 minutes from Dulles International Airport and twenty-five minutes from downtown Washington DC.

Reston was conceived as a planned city by Robert E. Simon and was founded in 1964. The community embodied the use of higher density housing to conserve open space, mixed use areas for industry, business, recreation, education and housing. It is nationally and internationally recognized for its excellent commercial and residential development.

Reston has a thriving economy, and is the technology and internet center of the Eastern United States, Virginia's second largest business center. Such prominent corporations like Oracle, MCI, CitiGroup make their homes here.
