Spokane Real Estate Information Spokane is an eastern city in Washington State with a population of just under 200,000. Believe it or not, the city was actually the site of the World's Fair in 1974, maing it the smallest city to ever host a World's Fair. Most of the buildings created for the Fair are still around even tdoay. Many have been converted to new uses, like the IMAX Theater within the old United States Pavillion. The Washington State Pavillion was even redesigned as the downtown Opera House! The main grounds for the Fair are now used by citizens as the large Riverfront Park. A large clock tower stands prominently on the grounds and in the park's logo.
The city hosts a number of interesting annual events despite its small size. The world's biggest 3-on-3 basketball tournament, called Hoopfest, draws a massive international crowd. In addition, a 12 km race called the Lilac Bloomsday Run is a big event for walkers and runners held on the first monday of May every year.
Thinking of the move to Spokane? Want to relocate within the city? Being a smaller town, the cost of living is highly competitive compared to the bustling metroplis of Seattle. There are many great deals on homes and townhomes here that are suitable for everyone!
