Little Chute Real Estate Information What’s up with the name “Little Chute”? Well, the early inhabitants of this community were largely immigrants from the Netherlands (supplying a distinct Dutch flavor to the area), named the area, “La Petite Chute”. This term was French for “Little Falls”, an apt description for the small rapids found along the Fox River, where the community was settled. By the turn of the twentieth century, the community was incorporated as the Village of Little Chute.
Located in an exquisite part of northeastern America, the Village of Little Chute is found along the northern banks of the Fox River in Outagamie County in the beautiful Fox River Valley in northern Wisconsin. Little Chute is neighbors with the City of Appleton, the county seat of Outagamie County, and is about a 2-hour drive south to Wisconsin’s largest city, Milwaukee.
There is no shortage of things to do and see in Little Chute. For starters, the Fox River provides plenty of recreational activities, and if you follow the river south, you will come across the state’s largest lake – Lake Winnebago. For a lake on an even grander scale, the Great Lake Michigan is just 20 miles to the east. For football crazies, you won’t find a more crazier and storied football place than Green Bay – home of the Packers and their famed fans, the Cheeseheads. Green Bay is just a short 25-mile drive north along U.S. Route 41.
