Foreclosure Numbers Are Out

The latest round of foreclosure numbers are out, and the results look great of the US real estate market.

In the month of august 22,900 new foreclosed properties were listed in the United States. This may seem like a large amount but, it is one of the lowest numbers we have seen in some time, and it follows a general trend in US real estate that in quite encouraging.

Of all states, Texas had the highest number of new foreclosures with 3,091 listed in August, and Georgia was a distant second with 1,540. Northern states fared much better, with the state of New Hampshire only listing 6 foreclosed properties in that month. Some say that foreclosure numbers are an excellent indicator of the health of the real estate market and of the economy in general. These numbers also serve as a slight rebound from the earlier months of the year which saw significantly higher foreclosure rates.
