Habitat for Humanity and NAR Team Up to Kick of National Conference

National Association of Realtors (NAR) and Habitat for Humanity International presented the keys to a new Habitat Orlando house to the Logan family at a dedication ceremony this week. The presentation opened the annual Realtors Conference & Expo in Orlando. More than 25,000 Realtors from across the country are expected to attend the Orlando conference, with $10 of each registration fee going to the sponsorship of the home.

Construction of the home was made possible through a collaborative effort among NAR, the Florida Association of Realtors (FAR), the Orlando Regional Realtors Association (ORRA) and Habitat for Humanity International. The house was actually built by Realtors from Florida, who had donated their time since March to build the one-story, three-bedroom house at 4048 West Jefferson Street.

The one-story, three-bedroom house will be home to Andrea Logan and her three children: Mercedes, 8, Alexandra, 5, and Natalia, 2. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity and every Realtor attending this conference, we're proud to make the American dream of homeownership come true for Andrea Logan and her three children, said Walt McDonald, broker-owner of Walt McDonald Real Estate, Riverside, California.

This was part of an annual tradition where Realtors will build and present a Habitat for Humanity house, in the host city as a prelude to its annual conference. In the past three years, NAR has built Habitat homes in Chicago, New Orleans and San Francisco.
