Realtors put the Real in Reality TV

Feisty realtors are not only making it big in the housing market, they’re also making it big on reality television.

An overwhelming number of realtors have graced the small screen in the past few years bushwhacking in the wilderness, competing to work for Donald Trump and vying to win the adoration of an "average" guy.

It may be that realtors appear on reality TV so frequently because they are quite used to marketing themselves. A penchant for selling might be just what it takes to be a successful realtor and a successful television personality. This along with the inherent patience, negotiation skills and outgoing nature that most realtors have might be quite significant in explaining their prevalence on these nitty-gritty, competitive shows.

The most recent realtor to hit the small screen was Jennifer Crisafulli who worked for Prudential Douglas Elliman in New York City. Crisafulli appeared on the most recent season of "The Apprentice" hoping to become Donald Trump’s next right-hand woman. Unfortunately Crisafulli didn’t see these dreams materialize when she was fired by Trump after being out-performed by her fellow contestants.

Crisafulli was not the only realtor who had hopes of becoming "The Donald’s" next Apprentice. Katrina Campins, who appeared on the first season of The Apprentice, received her real estate license when she was only 18 and has gone on to become quite successful selling luxury real estate in South Florida.

The popular show Survivor has also seen it’s share of realtors including Kathy Vavrick-O’Brien, who competed on the fourth season of Survivor and on Survivor All-Stars, Teresa "T-Bird" Cooper, who competed in the show’s third season, Erin Collins, who was on the fifth season, Richard Hatch, the winner of the first season of Survivor and Lisa Keiffer, who appears on the current season of the show.

Almost all of the realtors who have appeared on reality TV have seen their business take-off as a result.
